Not only are there hills and mountains around the town...but a river (or two, or three) run through it.
This first pic is the river directly behind my residence that separates the university in two campuses, the Old University and New University.

More Views (part 2)
View from my Uni...
The city of Ya'an and my university is couched between a whole bunch of hills and mountains. It's quite lovely. It's green everywhere. BTW, it's called the "Rainy City", because it rains most nights, and into the morning hours, but usually is done by 9 A.M. the latest, and with the humidity (i guess), the bball courts, and everything else is dry by afternoon. If I had known about the nickname of Ya'an, i might have thought twice about coming here. Glad I didnt know about that!
This view is about 100 feet from the Guest House that I and the other foreign teachers live in. This is the view that I see when I look to the right.
And this is the view to the left...
This is one of the main buildings that I will be teaching in.
So, I received my teaching schedule for the fall semester.
I have 4 1/2 teaching hours each week, in the form of 3 classes, for TOEFL training, oral english (there are four components to the TOEFL).
I will also have another 3 hours for a four week intensive oral english class for english majors somewhere in the middle of the semester.
That is my semester schedule. ROUGH, I Know!
Oh, BTW, english classes end earlier than the other classes, so I have been told that my winter break is longer than I had planned. I believe its almost two months long.
Paid. Guess I will have to do some traveling, eh?????
HEY, dont get jealous...this teaching gig with the long hours is very taxing...
